Sassnitz . Ferry port

In Sassnitz the train station Rügendamm and the ferry port to Trelleborg / Sweden resembled a high-security tract with barb wire and guard towers. Not far from the train station there was a kind of view platform (called ‘Sachsenblick’ by the local people) from where one had a good view on the port facilities. With glasses and champagne bottles in our hands my friends and I actually approached this location on this New Year’s eve. As often rumoured, we found the sentinel hut at the side deserted, even by the security guards. It was the time of helplessness, of boundlessness, of anarchy and we loudly made the decision to climb downwards in order to clink glasses on the big ferry-slip-bridge. I took a few photos in a disguised manner because experience had taught me to exercise caution.
